About Builders Arms Hotel

Builders Arms Hotel is a landmark Fitzroy public house and meeting place. Built in 1853, it has been part of the neighbourhood for generations. With an iconic public bar, bistro, private dining rooms, courtyard and on-street dining, the venue hosts everything from intimate celebrations and business lunches to larger private events.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Bar Supervisor ready to step into a hands‑on leadership role within the Builders Arms beverage team.

As Bar Supervisor, you’ll work closely with our Beverage Manager and wider management team to help run consistently strong bar services across our public bar, bistro and event spaces.

You will:

- Lead and support the bar team throughout busy services
- Maintain high standards across beer, wine and cocktail service
- Help oversee opening, closing and daily bar operations
- Support stock control, ordering, wastage and COGS management




- Ensure cocktails and beverage presentation remain consistent
- Train and develop bartenders through practical, hands‑on coaching
- Identify operational issues early and help resolve them
- Work closely with the restaurant, wine and management teams to deliver a seamless guest experience

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong bar experience who wants greater responsibility and a clear pathway into hospitality management.

What We’re Looking For

- Strong bartending experience in quality, high‑volume venues
- Previous supervisory experience, or clear readiness to take the next step
- Good knowledge of beer, wine and cocktails
- An understanding of stock control, wastage and beverage COGS
- Confidence leading and directing a team during busy services
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- A calm, practical approach to problem solving
- Genuine interest in food, beverage and hospitality
- A willingness to learn, develop and take ownership
