We are a unique boutique accounting practice with an established client base, located in the heart of Brunswick East. We work with clients across a wide range of industries and provide comprehensive services including accounting and taxation, business consulting and advisory.

Due to the continued growth of our practice, we have an excellent opportunity for an Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated Accountant with a minimum of 1-2 year of relevant accounting experience to join our growing team.

The role provides exposure to a diverse client base and a broad range of accounting and taxation matters. your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing financial statements and tax returns for individuals, partnerships, companies and trusts.
- Preparing BAS, IAS and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Reviewing client records, identifying missing information and following up with clients.
- Reconciling accounts and preparing workpapers, tax calculations and adjusting journal entries.
- Preparing work for senior review, responding to review points and finalising approved changes.
- Managing assigned jobs, including tracking outstanding information and deadlines.
- Researching accounting and taxation matters and applying relevant legislation, regulations and professional requirements.
- Maintaining accurate client records and working with cloud-based accounting and taxation systems.
- Working collaboratively with the principal and senior accountants to meet client requirements.
- Performing other accounting-related duties as required.

About You The ideal candidate will have:

- A bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline with a strong accounting component.
- At least 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience,



preferably in a public accounting or professional services practice.
- Practical experience preparing financial statements, tax returns and Business Activity Statements.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and Australian taxation and statutory requirements.
- The ability to complete accounting and taxation work accurately with supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Xero, Xero Tax, QuickBooks, MYOB and Class Super, which will be highly regarded.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
- A reliable, skilled approach, initiative and a willingness to learn.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine interest in building a long-term career in public practice.

CPA, CA or IPA studies, whether commenced or completed, will be highly regarded but are not essential.

$80,000 Base Salary + 12% Superannuation
