Make a Difference Behind the Scenes in Mental Health

Temporary Full Time and Part Time Opportunities to Support the accurate and timely administration of Mental Health Act processes and Mental Health Review Tribunal hearings within Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution through high-level administration, stakeholder coordination and information management.

Your Recent Role

As an Administration Support Officer within the Mental Health Act Team, you will play a key role in coordinating Mental Health Review Tribunal hearings and ensuring Mental Health Act documentation is accurately processed and entered into relevant information systems. Working with clinicians, legal practitioners, consumers, carers and tribunal representatives, you will manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality and ensure legislative and administrative requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and monitor Mental Health Review Tribunal hearings, including emergency hearings and associated logistics.
- Accurately process Mental Health Act documentation and maintain CIMHA and other information systems.
- Liaise with clinicians, tribunal representatives, legal practitioners, consumers and carers to coordinate hearing requirements.
- Manage high-volume administrative tasks, prioritising deadlines while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality and legislative compliance.

About You You are a highly organised and adaptable administrator who can manage sensitive information,



competing priorities and complex stakeholder relationships with professionalism and discretion. You will bring strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a changing mental health environment. Skills & Experience

- Strong administrative, organisational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills across diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2016, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge.
