Norwest Christian College is seeking a talented and enthusiastic HSIE Teacher to join our Secondary School team from Term 1, 2027. This is a full-time prospect for a committed educator who is passionate about helping students understand the world around them while growing young people of faith, character and purpose.

About the role

- Teach HSIE subjects that help students develop a deeper understanding of history, culture, place, people and systems.
n
- Differentiate learning to meet student needs and support strong learning growth.
n
- Mentor and pastor students as they grow in confidence, character and purpose.
n
- Contribute to a collaborative, faith-centred teaching team and the broader life of the College.

About you

n

The successful applicant will demonstrate a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with that faith, including an active commitment to a Christian fellowship. They will also bring the following skills and experience:

- A strong commitment to Christian education and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students.
n
- Excellent classroom practice, communication skills and classroom management.
n
- A commitment to academic excellence and high expectations for student learning.
n
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and families.
n
- A collaborative approach to planning and developing engaging learning experiences.
n
- Experience with Stage 6 HSC courses, with the ability to teach one or more of Geography, Business Studies, Economics, Ancient History.
n
- Experience with Stage 4 and 5 Geography and Commerce highly desired.
n
- A commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth.
n
- A pastoral mindset and confidence in sharing faith appropriately within a Christian school context.
n
- An understanding of the wellbeing needs of adolescents.
n
- A willingness to actively contribute to the co-curricular life of the College.
n
- Working with Children Check clearance number or clearance letter required.
n
- Must be able to live and work in NSW.
