Doral Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (DMS), mines and processes heavy mineral sands with assets near Bunbury, Busselton and Mandurah in the Southwest / Peel region of WA. In addition to these sites, and as part of the company's growth strategy, we have recently acquired a mineral sands operation within the Gascoyne region of WA. Doral are a medium sized business with a strong focus on our family culture and core values of safety, integrity, sustainability and collaboration.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Mechanical Coordinator/Supervisors will either be based at our Yalyalup (Busselton) mine site, or at the Picton Processing Plant - Bunbury. The roles' primary purpose onsite is to lead and supervise the mechanical team ensuring reliability, safety, and optimal performance of mechanical systems and equipment within the fixed plant infrastructure.

The position will be responsible for the successful completion of the following duties and roles:

- Manage the trade skills necessary to maintain the plant to ensure production targets and plant availability is maintained.
- Provide input into the development and continuous improvement of maintenance, inspection and Testing schedules.




- Update and Keep records of maintenance and testing activities and spares.
- Liaise closely with Production personnel and nurture a team ownership approach to Maintenance.
- Provide input into the cost and effectiveness of plant maintenance.
- Provide input into the cost and effectiveness of spares and inventory levels.
- Provide input into the development and ongoing improvement in JSAs
- Accountable for the site lifting equipment register.
- Ensure that Mechanical inspections and testing are carried out in accordance with the Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations i.e. itinerant plant inspections.
- Ensure there is good ownership of process/technical troubleshooting amongst operational personnel by equipping them with the relevant technical knowledge to do so.
- Help and support peers including contractors/consultants within the operation to complete activities.
- Clearly understand how your activities and responsibilities affect those of other personnel to help ensure that the company’s goals are achieved in an efficient and effective manner.
- Help and support other personnel within and outside your department where appropriate
- Planning, scheduling and contract liaison of maintenance shutdowns.
- Plans and organise daily and weekly maintenance schedules.




- Liaises with operational leaders to finalise priorities for maintenance and minor project work.
- Supervises contract labour, apprentices and other labour as necessary to complete maintenance work.
- Helps maintain the maintenance management system (Pronto) such that accurate and up to date entries are made
- Clearly understand how your activities and responsibilities affect those of other personnel in order to help ensure that everyone meets the company’s goals in an efficient and effective manner.
- Help and support other personnel within and outside your department where appropriate.
- Provide input into the maintenance training matrix and upkeep by training of trades personnel and/or operators as required

Key factors to your success include;

- Mechanical Trade Certificate
- Significant experience in fixed plant mechanical maintenance within mining, mineral sands or heavy process industry
- Demonstrated robust leadership, supervisory and crew coordination skills.
- Proven ability to coach mentor and develop team members
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure in a production environment
- Hold or be willing to obtain statutory supervisor certificate
- Sound numeracy and literacy skills.
- Sound mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrated diagnostics and trouble shooting ability.

- Computer literacy
