1st Year Security Equipment Apprentice

Are you practical, reliable and interested in technology? This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in the electronic security industry as a 1st Year Security Equipment Apprentice. You'll work alongside experienced technicians while completing a Certificate III in Security Equipment, gaining a nationally recognised qualification and valuable hands-on experience installing and servicing electronic security systems.

What you'll learn

As part of your apprenticeship, you'll gain practical experience across a range of electronic security systems, including: Installing and maintaining CCTV camera systems

Installing access control systems, including card readers and keypads

Installing electronic locks and associated security equipment

Running, terminating and testing CAT5e/CAT6 and other low-voltage cabling

Basic networking and equipment configuration

Testing, fault finding and troubleshooting

Installation and servicing of security equipment

Reading plans and following cable pathways

Using hand and power tools

Working safely and professionally on customer sites

Comfortable using hand and power tools

Able to follow instructions and work well within a team

Professional and respectful when working around customers

Physically capable of working in an installation environment

Committed to completing their apprenticeship and obtaining their qualification

Essential requirements





Current Australian Driver's Licence

White Card

Genuine interest in completing a Certificate III in Security Equipment

Full working rights in Australia

No previous experience in the security industry is required.

Previous experience with tools, electrical work, construction, computers, networking or other hands-on work will be viewed favourably but is not essential.
