STAR Community Services is seeking an experienced and people-focused CHSP Team Leader to lead a diverse portfolio of Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) services and play a key role in preparing our organisation for the transition to the new Support at Home Program.

About the Role

Reporting to the Client Planning & Service Delivery Manager, you will provide leadership, operational oversight and quality assurance across a range of CHSP-funded services including:

- Domestic Assistance
- Home Maintenance
- Home Modifications
- Social Support Individual
- Social Support Group




- Assistance with Care and Housing (ACH)

You will support Coordinators and frontline teams to deliver high-quality, person-centred services while ensuring compliance, performance and positive client outcomes.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Performance

- Lead, mentor and support a team of Coordinators and service delivery staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Support staff development through coaching, training and supervision.
- Drive team performance and service excellence.

Service Delivery & Quality
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple CHSP service streams.
- Monitor service quality, client outcomes and program performance.
- Ensure services are delivered in line with wellness, reablement and person-centred principles.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and innovation.

Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with CHSP requirements, funding obligations and quality standards.
- Monitor reporting, documentation and service reviews.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and audit readiness.
- Support implementation of aged care reforms and sector changes.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with clients, families, contractors, community partners and referrers.




- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure positive client experiences.
- Represent STAR professionally within the community and aged care sector.

About You

You are an experienced leader who can balance operational oversight with people leadership and strategic thinking.

You will bring

- Experience leading teams within aged care, community services or a related sector.
- Strong knowledge of CHSP, aged care service delivery or community-based programs.
- Experience managing quality, compliance and service performance.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop staff.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A commitment to person-centred practice and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant qualifications in Community Services, Aged Care, Social Work, Allied Health, Human Services or a related field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in aged care, community services or a similar environment.
- Sound understanding of aged care reform and contemporary community service delivery practices.
- Experience managing service outcomes, budgets and operational performance is highly regarded.
