Where you'll be working

Join the Allied Health team across Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals, supporting patients through meaningful therapy and rehabilitation activities. You will work closely with Occupational Therapists and other health professionals in a collaborative environment where your contribution directly supports patient care.

What you'll be doing

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will provide practical support to the Occupational Therapy team and assist with the delivery of delegated therapy activities under the supervision of an Allied Health professional.





- Assist with individual and group therapy, exercise and patient education programs

- Support patients to develop and maintain functional independence

- Observe and document patient participation, presentation and progress

- Communicate relevant patient information and outcomes to supervising clinicians

- Manage allocated tasks and workload while working within your scope of practice

Essential Criteria

- License: NSW Driver's License

- Qualification: Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance is preferred.

Selection Criteria

1. Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance/relevant qualification

2. Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels with internal and external stakeholders

3. Demonstrated previous experience working in a health workplace

4. Demonstrated ability to work as a contributing member of the allied health team

5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload delegated by supervising AHP’s,



meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice, seeking assistance as required

6. Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications

7. Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation and principles and how it applies to the duties of the position

8. Demonstrated ability to work with disabled and or aged clients in a service or professional care giving capacity, in a positive manner enhancing the client’s ability to achieve positive outcomes and personal goals
