Casual part time animal attendant

- Provide daily feeding, watering, husbandry and general care of animals.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic and safe environment, including kennels, cages, bedding and equipment.
- Safely handle and restrain animals using appropriate welfare-focused techniques.
- Monitor animals for changes in behaviour, appetite, toileting or general condition and report concerns to the veterinary team.
- Assist veterinary nurses and veterinarians with animal handling, patient care and procedures as directed.
- Follow individual animal care plans, dietary requirements and medication instructions where appropriately authorised.
- Provide exercise, enrichment, grooming and general wellbeing care.
- Maintain accurate animal care and observation records.
- Follow workplace health and safety, infection-control, biosecurity and animal welfare procedures.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, animal movements and general day-to-day clinic duties.
- Maintain animal-care supplies and equipment and assist with general cleaning and organisation.
- Provide compassionate, professional care and contribute positively to a protected and supportive team environment.

We are looking for a passionate,



reliable and caring individual who enjoys working with animals and is enthusiastic about learning and developing their skills. A Certificate II in Animal Studies is preferred but not essential. We welcome applications from people of all ages and backgrounds, including mature-age applicants who are looking for a rewarding role working with animals.

Requirements

- Availability to work 3 public holidays per year, including Christmas. Public holidays will be allocated as required.
- Flexibility with availability and a willingness to take on additional shifts when required.
- A genuine interest in and general knowledge of animals.
- Confidence and willingness to safely handle a variety of animals, including large dogs, cats, rabbits and wildlife.
- As the role involves early mornings and late evenings, reliable transport and a current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
- A reliable, positive and team-oriented approach to work.
