Location: Melbourne/Sydney

Role Summary The Appian Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-grade applications on the Appian platform as part of a large-scale digital transformation programme. The role involves building scalable business workflows, integrations, user interfaces, and process automation solutions while ensuring adherence to development standards, security requirements, and performance expectations.

Required Skills & Experience

- 6+ years of experience in enterprise application development.
- Strong hands-on expertise in the Appian Platform.
- Experience in designing and developing Appian applications, process models, interfaces, records, reports, and integrations.
- Strong knowledge of Appian best practices, reusable components, and application lifecycle management.
- Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, microservices, and system integration patterns.
- Positive understanding of relational databases, SQL, and data modelling concepts.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience collaborating with offshore and cross-functional delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and deploy Appian applications aligned with business requirements and enterprise standards.




- Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable Appian solutions.
- Build and maintain Appian process models, records, interfaces, reports, decision rules, and integrations.
- Develop integrations with core enterprise systems, underwriting applications, pricing engines, and third-party platforms using REST/SOAP services and API frameworks.
- Ensure application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability through adherence to Appian development best practices.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and technical teams to deliver business solutions.
- Participate in technical design discussions, effort estimations, code reviews, and sprint planning activities.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis for application defects and performance bottlenecks.
- Support CI/CD implementation, release management, and environment deployment activities.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including detailed design specifications, integration documents, and deployment guides.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote development standards, coding guidelines, and reusable frameworks across the programme.
- Mentor junior developers and support knowledge-sharing initiatives within the development team.

- Appian Certified Senior Developer

Nice to Have

- Exposure to Insurance, Underwriting, Pricing, or Financial Services domains.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and enterprise integration patterns.
