About the role

Kalpumps Sales and Service is seeking a motivated Apprentice Mechanical Fitter/ Fitter and Turner to join our team in Perth, WA. This is a full-time apprenticeship chance for someone ready to build a career in the mechanical trade, working towards a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade over the course of your apprenticeship. You will work alongside our experienced fitters and technicians, gaining hands-on training in the servicing, repair, and overhaul of pumps and related mechanical equipment used across mine sites, processing plants, and agricultural operations.

There is potential for site work as part of this role for candidates aged 18 and over.

Key responsibilities

- Assist with the strip-down, inspection, repair, and reassembly of pumps and mechanical components
- Learn fault diagnosis and repair techniques under the guidance of qualified tradespeople
- Support day-to-day workshop operations,
- Follow correct procedures for the safe handling of tools, equipment, and parts
- Assist with site-based work as required and where age/experience permits
- Attend TAFE/trade school as part of your formal apprenticeship training
- Develop a working knowledge of pump types, applications, and mechanical systems over the course of the apprenticeship

What we're looking for

- A genuine interest in pursuing a career as a mechanical fitter
- Previous mechanical experience highly advantageous — whether gained at school, TAFE, through a hobby, or informal experience
- Reliable,



punctual, and safety-conscious approach to work
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands-on problem-solving mindset
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced tradespeople
- A valid driver's licence (or working towards one) highly regarded
- Willingness to support site-based work as opportunities arise (18+)
