About the Role

Lady Gowrie Qld are seeking talented and motivated Assistant Accountant to join out Finance team in our Central Office in Bowen Hills. The role is full time, working Monday to Friday, starting ASAP!

These are dynamic services with long standing team that are truly passionate about high quality care and education for children.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare regular bank reconciliations

- Prepare revenue journals and adjustments





- Assistance with month end processes (including balance sheet reconciliations and general journal preparation)

- Processing of monthly creditors and associated reconciliation processes

- Maintenance of the fixed assets register

- Assistance with preparing reports

- Support the Financial Controller with compliance reporting (e.g. Business Activity Statements)

- Assistance with the annual audit preparation process

- Assistance with preparation of Fringe Benefit Tax Returns
- To promote the purpose, philosophy and strategic goals of Lady Gowrie Queensland
- To maintain confidentiality and use discretion when dealing and corresponding on sensitive issues on any matters relating to the financial affairs of the organisation

- Effectively communicate with stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient assistant with service needs

About You

- A degree or diploma qualification in accounting

- At least 2 years’ experience working as an Assistant Accountant

- Experience in working with XERO accounting software

- Experience with processing of payables in XERO

- Experience in the not-for-profit sector is highly valued

- At least intermediate experience with digital tools (excel, word, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc)

- Ability to be Team Focussed and effectively prioritise workload
