We're working with an early-stage, well-backed technology company building its platform from the ground up.

They're looking for a Staff or Principal-level engineer to own the AWS foundations from day one.

The role
n
This is not an environment you inherit.
n
You'll help create it.
n
You'll be responsible for designing and building the core AWS platform, including:
n
n
- AWS account structure and setting design
n
- VPC architecture and networking
n
- Terraform and infrastructure as code
n
- IAM, access controls and security foundations
n
- CI/CD and deployment pipelines
n
- Containerised workloads and deployment patterns
n
- Observability, reliability and operational standards
n
- The platform decisions that future engineering teams will build on
n
n
The environment is genuinely greenfield, so the expectation is that you can make good architectural decisions without needing an established platform team around you.
n
What we're looking for
n
You're likely operating at Staff or Principal level and have previously built AWS environments from scratch.
n
The strongest backgrounds will include experience with:
n
n
- AWS in production at meaningful scale
n
- Terraform
n
- Multi-account AWS environments
n
- Networking and VPC design
n
- IAM and security
n
- CI/CD
n
- Containers
n
- Production reliability and observability
n
n
The key differentiator is having built the foundations yourself, rather than only maintaining or extending an established environment.
