McArthur is currently seeking an organised and proactive Sports Administration Officer to support a national sporting organisation based in Canberra.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in sports administration, club operations, events, membership, team support or general office administration who would enjoy working in a busy sporting environment.

The position will provide day-to-day administrative support to the organisation and will suit someone who is comfortable taking ownership of a broad range of tasks.

The opportunity
n

- Full-time temporary assignment
n
- Canberra based
n
- Approximately 37.5 hours per week
n
- $37-$40 per hour + super
n
- Assignment expected to run through to approximately Christmas
n
n
Key responsibilities may include:
n
n
- Providing general administrative and office support
n
- Responding to telephone and email enquiries
n
- Maintaining records, documents and filing systems
n
- Supporting basic finance administration, including invoices and payment-related processing
n
- Assisting with sporting programs, events and operational activities
n
- Coordinating information and responding to enquiries from stakeholders
n
- Supporting staff, athletes, teams and other stakeholders as required
n
- Assisting with schedules, bookings and other day-to-day coordination
n
- Maintaining accurate information across relevant systems and spreadsheets
n
- Providing ad hoc administration support to ensure the office operates efficiently
n
n
About you
n
We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and comfortable working in a varied role.
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
- Previous experience in sports administration, a sporting club, sporting association or similar environment
n
- Strong general administration and organisational skills
n
- Confident telephone and customer service skills
n
- Experience maintaining records and managing competing priorities
n
- Some exposure to invoices, accounts administration or basic finance processing
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
n
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team
n
- A practical, versatile approach and willingness to assist wherever required
n
n
Experience working with athletes, sporting teams, competitions, events, memberships or sporting programs would be highly regarded.
n
Candidates with strong administration experience and a genuine background or involvement in sport are also encouraged to apply.
