You will work at the intersection of AI, cyber security, compliance, and data protection, ensuring emerging technologies are deployed safely, ethically, and in alignment with regulatory and organisational requirements.

What You Will Do

As a trusted AI Cyber Security engineer, you will play a key role in enabling secure AI adoption while protecting critical information assets and mitigating emerging cyber risks.

You will help define AI governance strategies, implement security controls, assess AI-related risks, and advise stakeholders on responsible AI deployment. Working closely with security teams, architects, technology leaders, and policy stakeholders, you will bridge the gap between innovation and security.

Your Responsibilities

Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of AI governance frameworks.

Design and implement AI security control frameworks aligned with cyber security, privacy, risk, and compliance requirements.

Develop policies, standards, and procedures governing the use of AI technologies.

Assess AI solutions against security, privacy, ethical, and legislative requirements.

Establish governance processes supporting accountability, transparency,



monitoring, and assurance for AI systems.

Conduct research and horizon scanning to identify emerging AI trends, threats, and opportunities.

AI Risk Management

Perform AI risk assessments and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

Evaluate AI use cases and provide guidance on secure and responsible deployment practices.

Monitor emerging AI threats, including:

Data leakage

Prompt injection attacks

Model manipulation

Unauthorised AI usage

Information exposure risks

Support the integration of AI-related risks into broader enterprise cyber security risk frameworks.

Microsoft Security & AI Data Protection

Design, implement, document, and maintain AI-related security controls within Microsoft 365 and associated platforms.

Configure and manage:

Microsoft Purview Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) for AI

Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

Sensitivity Labels

Information Protection

Insider Risk Management

Communication Compliance

Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps

Microsoft Copilot governance and data access controls

Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure secure adoption of AI-enabled technologies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory

Partner with technical teams, architects, governance functions, and senior stakeholders.

Translate complex AI and cyber security concepts into practical and actionable business outcomes.

Provide expert advice on AI governance, security,



compliance, and risk management matters.

You Should Have

Proven experience in AI governance, technology risk, cyber security governance, or information security.

Strong experience implementing cyber security and compliance controls within Microsoft 365 environments.

Hands‑on experience with:

Microsoft Purview

Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

Information Protection

Data governance and security controls

Deep understanding of:

AI governance frameworks

Responsible AI principles

Privacy and data protection requirements

Risk management methodologies

Cyber security control frameworks

Experience identifying and managing AI-related risks within enterprise environments.

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.

Knowledge of cloud platforms, AI technologies, and secure data handling practices.

Familiarity with security and governance frameworks such as:

Experience working within government, regulated, or critical infrastructure environments.

Experience with:

Postgraduate qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Security, AI, Data Governance, or a related discipline.
