Role Description The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW, supporting the daily operations of the early learning center. This role involves overseeing staff schedules, supporting educators in classroom activities, and ensuring that programs align with the center’s play-based curriculum and regulatory standards.

The Assistant

Manager helps maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children, and builds strong relationships with families through clear communication and responsive support. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with enrollment processes, monitoring compliance with policies and frameworks, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives,



and stepping in for the Center Manager when required. The role also requires collaboration with the leadership team to drive quality outcomes, support staff development, and uphold the center’s values and culture.

Qualifications

- Relevant early childhood education qualifications (e.g., Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education) and a strong understanding of play-based learning.
- Experience in early childhood center operations, including staff support, scheduling, and compliance with local regulations and quality standards.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic administrative tasks, documentation, and use of childcare management software or similar systems.
- Leadership capabilities, including team coordination, conflict resolution, and contribution to professional development initiatives.
- Knowledge of child safety requirements, health and hygiene practices, and risk management in an early learning environment.
- Current Working With Children Check and other required clearances as per NSW regulations; first aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to work full time on-site in Sydney, NSW, with reliability, flexibility, and a commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practices.
