About the role
As an Assistant Manager, you'll combine your technical expertise with people leadership, helping to drive operational efficiency, maintain quality standards, and contribute to the ongoing growth of the business.
In this role, you will:
- Manage and coordinate workflow across assigned client portfolios.
- Review financial statements, tax returns, BAS and supporting workpapers.
- Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Support the coaching, development and capability uplift of team members.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity and service delivery.
- Assist with resource planning, capacity management and workflow forecasting.
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, collaboration and service excellence
About you
We are looking for someone who is motivated and experienced in Australian public practice accounting, passionating to deliver exceptional client service and collaborate to the team's growth.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- At least 4 years' Australian public practice accounting experience
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax and compliance
- Experience reviewing work prepared by other accountants
- Exposure to client portfolio management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong workflow and time management capabilities
- CA or CPA qualification (or nearing completion)
- Experience using Xero and practice management systems
Highly regarded:
- Assistant Manager experience
- Tax Agent Registration
- Experience working with offshore teams
- Leadership or mentoring experience
