Our popular restaurant in Hawthorn East is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team.

This is a full-time position, and applicants must be available to work weekends and evenings.

About the Role

Working closely with management, you will assist with the day-to-day operation of the restaurant and help lead and develop our team.

Key responsibilities include

- Ensuring a high standard of a la carte service
- Demonstrating strong knowledge of food and beverages
- Greeting and seating customers and ensuring a high level of customer service
- Managing restaurant sections and coordinating staff during service
- Organising tables and bookings to ensure smooth service
- Setting up and closing the restaurant
- Preparing rosters based on business requirements and staff availability
- Managing staff and assisting with training and development of junior and trainee employees
- Maintaining OHS, cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Managing and maintaining the licensed bar
- Preparing and serving alcoholic beverages
- Liaising with the kitchen regarding bookings, events and customer requirements
- Processing guest accounts and transactions
- Maintaining the coffee station
- Assisting with stocktake, purchasing and ordering
- Using computer and POS systems
- Assisting with menu preparation and adjustments




- Monitoring rosters and staffing levels to maintain appropriate payroll costs

About You We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous restaurant or hospitality management experience
- Is confident leading and motivating a team
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Is organised, reliable and able to work under pressure
- Has strong knowledge of food, beverage and restaurant operations
- Takes pride in maintaining high service and presentation standards
- Is a genuine people person with a positive and professional attitude
- Has a strong commitment to the hospitality industry
- Is flexible and available to work evenings and weekends
