Assistant Site Supervisor and Maintenance Coordinator

Milford Homes is a long and well established timber-framed home builder based in Wangara. Our homes are fully built on site on either timber poles or concrete slabs, with a large volume of projects throughout the Perth metro area, as well as the South West and North West of WA.

We are currently searching for a driven individual to join us in a full-time developmental role as an Assistant Site Supervisor and Maintenance Coordinator.

About the role

Working as part of our close-knit construction team under the direction of the Construction Manager, you will play a dual role within the company.

Initially, you will work closely alongside our Construction Manager and Site Supervisors to assist in ensuring our active builds run smoothly, learning our systems with the long-term focus of stepping up to supervise your own projects. Simultaneously, you will take ownership of our post-handover maintenance coordination, serving as the main point of contact for clients and trades.

Because a large portion of our homes are built in country locations, an enjoyment of traveling outside the metro space on regular occasions is essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Construction and supervision support

- Assist the Construction Manager and Site Supervisors to ensure builds run smoothly, on time, and to budget.

- Work closely with Site Supervisors on site to help coordinate daily activities and monitor progress.

- Review working drawings,



engineering details and associated works alongside the team.

- Assist Site Supervisors with site inspections prior to construction to ensure proper site preparation.

- Support the team in liaising with clients regarding necessary earthworks and the availability of services.

- Help Site Supervisors monitor trades and construction workers to ensure a high quality of work.

- Maintain regular contact with trades and assist in providing clear technical support on site.

- Respond promptly to critical requirements on site to support the Site Supervisors as they arise.

- Work with the team to ensure a safe, compliant working environment for everyone on site.

- Assist with the delivery of main and mid loads to site when required.

- Participate in and support practical completion meetings with clients prior to handover.

Maintenance Coordination (Post-Handover Phase)

- Act as the primary point of contact for clients navigating their post-handover maintenance period.

- Assess, log, and coordinate maintenance requests and defect lists.

- Schedule and allocate appropriate trades to resolve maintenance issues efficiently.

- Carry out minor maintenance and rectification works yourself where suitable and efficient to do so.





- Carry out inspections of completed maintenance works to ensure they meet company standards.

ABOUT YOU

You are a self-starting, driven individual who is eager to learn and grow their career in construction management. You enjoy working as part of a team but are equally confident working independently. You love traveling outside of Perth, handle client communication with maturity, and possess the skills to interact effortlessly with a diverse range of tradespeople, contractors and clients from various backgrounds.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Experience: A trade qualification (carpentry or timber-framed housing experience is highly beneficial) or foundational experience in home building supervision.

- Technical Skills: Ability to interpret working drawings, engineer's detailing, take-offs, and quantity lists.

- Compliance: Strong understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) / Building Code of Australia and workplace health and safety requirements.

- Tech Literacy: Ability to operate contemporary digital applications to a professional level (including email, construction/scheduling software (or an eagerness to learn), and Microsoft Office).

- Licences: Must hold a current manual driver's licence, White Card, and a recent National Police Check.

- Attributes: High level of verbal communication, excellent time management and a long term desire to become a fully fledged Site Supervisor.
