The Opportunity

Are you an experienced technology-focused tradesperson with a passion for autonomous mining systems? Thiess is seeking an experienced and motivated Autonomous Haulage System Technician to join our high-performing team at the Olive Downs Complex in Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

As a key member of the Olive Downs team, you'll be responsible for carrying out repairs and maintenance across Autonomous Haulage and Fleet Management systems, helping support safe and efficient autonomous mining operations.

Roster: 7/7 Days/Nights | Location: Olive Downs Complex, Bowen Basin, QLD | Employment Type: Full-time

As the Autonomous Haulage Technician, you will:

- Safely conduct maintenance activities on mobile equipment fitted with Autonomous, Fleet Management and Tyre Sense systems.

- Complete autonomous technology installations, site repairs, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and data collection.

- Collaborate and communicate with site and project teams, as well as key internal and external stakeholders, to support safety, environmental and production targets.

- Carry out required statutory inspections and calibrations.

About You

- Relevant trade qualification in Automotive Electrical or Diesel Fitting.

- Experience in the deployment and field validation of complex technology-based products within a mining workplace.

- Previous experience with Caterpillar MineStar Command and/or Komatsu FrontRunner systems is preferred.





- Previous experience in autonomous mining operations is highly regarded.

- Understanding of network communications and data collection.

- Strong time management and communication skills.

- Valid C Class Driver Licence.

- CAT 793F and CAT 794AC experience is highly regarded.

- CAT MD6310 experience is desirable.

- A safety-focused approach with the ability to work collaboratively in a high-performing team environment.
