Loveit Cakes Christmas Casual – Assistant Baker

Loveit Cakes is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Baker to join our friendly, family-run team for the busy Christmas season!

We are looking for someone to assist us now through December, helping with the increased demand for Christmas orders and our regular cake and dessert production.

This is a casual, seasonal position and would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy bakery environment, has a passion for baking and decorating, and is happy to jump in wherever needed. Flexibility and reliability throughout the busy Christmas period is essential.

If the position is a positive fit for both you and our team, we would love for this to develop into an ongoing casual position beyond the Christmas period.

What We’re Looking For

- Previous baking experience and confidence working with recipes and instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency when preparing products.

- The ability to multitask and stay organised in a fast-paced environment.
- Someone who takes pride in keeping their workspace clean, tidy and organised.
- Comfortable with cleaning, stock management and general bakery duties.

- Flexibility and reliability throughout the busy November and December period.

Key ResponsibilitiesBaking & Preparation
- Bake cakes, cupcakes, biscuits and other desserts.
- Prepare curds, buttercreams, fillings and other components.
- Line, fill and de-pan cake tins.

- Assist with cake preparation, levelling and other bakery tasks as required.
- Prepare and organise weekly orders.
- Assist the team with Christmas orders and increased seasonal production.

- Store, label and date baked goods,



fillings and other products correctly.

Cleaning & Organisation
- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised bakery and work area throughout the day.

- Wash dishes and keep benches, equipment and work surfaces clean.
- Clean baking equipment, utensils, fridges, freezers and other areas as required.
- Complete end-of-day cleaning and general cleaning duties.

- Keep storage areas, fridges and freezers neat and organised.
- Ensure products and ingredients are stored correctly and areas are maintained to food safety standards.

Stock & Inventory

- Assist with regular stock takes and inventory checks.
- Check ingredient and packaging levels and identify items that need replenishing.
- Help receive, unpack and correctly store stock.

- Check dates and rotate stock as required.
- Keep stock areas organised and ensure ingredients are stored appropriately.
- Communicate low-stock items or any stock discrepancies to the team.

Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist wherever needed to help keep the bakery running smoothly during our busiest time of year.

- Follow recipes, instructions and Loveit Cakes' procedures consistently.

Contract Length: Approximately 3 months initially

Ongoing Opportunity: If everything goes well and the position is a good fit, we would love for the role to continue as an ongoing casual position after the Christmas period.
