As the Building & Environmental Health Surveyor you will be responsible for assessing applications, undertaking certification and inspections, investigating compliance matters and providing professional advice to Council, industry and the community.

The role offers a broad scope of work across residential, commercial and industrial development. Providing the opportunity to apply your technical expertise while contributing to protected, compliant and well-planned development across the shire.

What We Are Looking For In You

A technically capable and solution focused professional with relevant qualifications in building surveying, certification, environmental health or a related discipline and the ability to maintain the accreditation.

Demonstrated sound knowledge of Building Code of Australia, planning, public health and environmental legislation. Together with the ability to confidently interpret and apply legislation and technical requirements.

Proven experience across development assessment, building certification and inspections with the ability to work across residential, commercial and industrial development.





A strong regulatory and problem-solving mindset with experience investigating complaints, resolving compliance matters and achieving fair and practical outcomes.

Sound professional judgement, communication and report writing skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities, navigate complex matters and deliver practical outcomes.
