28 Mason is a busy, modern local café focused on quality coffee, great food and friendly customer service. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Barista to join our team and help deliver an excellent experience to every customer.

About the Role

As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and beverages while providing friendly, efficient and professional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare high-quality espresso coffee, including coffees such as latte, cappuccino, flat white, long black and piccolo.

- Maintain consistency in coffee quality, presentation and taste.

- Operate and maintain the espresso machine, grinder and other coffee equipment.

- Grind, dose and extract coffee correctly and adjust the grinder throughout service.

- Prepare alternative milk coffees and other hot and cold beverages.

- Take customer orders accurately and process payments.

- Provide friendly and welcoming customer service. - Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic coffee station.

- Restock coffee, milk, cups and other supplies as required.

- Follow food safety and workplace hygiene standards.

- Assist the FOH team when required.



- Complete opening and closing duties to a high standard.

- Work efficiently and calmly during busy café service.

- Communicate effectively and work as part of a team.

What We’re Looking For

- Previous barista experience in a busy café environment.

- Solid knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso extraction.

- Excellent customer service skills.

- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.

- Positive, reliable and friendly attitude.

- Well-presented and professional.

- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Weekend availability is highly desirable.

Pay: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour
