The opportunity

We are seeking qualified Boilermakers, a Leading Hand Boilermaker, Trade Assistants and Electrical Technicians for permanent roles with established regional employers. The work is mainly workshop and plant based, with some site attendance depending on the role. Each of these roles is central to keeping fabrication, maintenance and production running.

Key responsibilities - Leading Hand Boilermaker

- Fabricate, assemble, repair and modify equipment, steel structures and components from engineering drawings and specifications
- Take the lead on complex or high-tolerance jobs, and check fit-up, weld quality and finish before work leaves the workshop
- Guide and teach apprentices and junior tradespeople: demonstrate technique, check their work and sign off on tasks as they progress
- Plan the day with the supervisor: sequence jobs, allocate work across the crew and flag issues with drawings or materials early
- Liaise with engineers on drawing queries and workable changes
- Lead by example on safety: toolbox talks, housekeeping, isolation and confined space procedures, correct use of lifting gear

Key responsibilities - Boilermaker

- Fabrication and assembly of equipment, metal components and structures
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and specifications
- Carry out repairs and maintenance on plant,



equipment and structural assets
- See jobs through to finish: fit-up, welding, surface preparation and paint
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment and work with the team to meet production deadlines

Key responsibilities - Trade Assistant

- Support tradespeople with fabrication, maintenance and repair work
- Prepare materials and work areas: cutting, grinding, cleaning and surface preparation
- Move and stage materials and components, including forklift and lifting work where ticketed
- Assist with shutdowns, maintenance tasks and site jobs
- Keep the workshop and site clean, safe and organised
- Follow safe work procedures, including isolation and correct use of PPE

Key responsibilities - Electrical Technician

- Install, maintain, test and repair electrical systems and equipment in industrial plants and workshops
- Fault-find on motors, drives, switchboards, PLC-controlled equipment and instrumentation
- Carry out preventive maintenance and inspection programs
- Read and work from electrical drawings, schematics and control diagrams
- Work with mechanical trades and production to minimise downtime
- Complete testing, tagging and documentation in line with Australian Standards and site procedures

About you

- Certification and Experience: Boilermakers hold a Certificate III in Engineering, Fabrication Trade (or a recognised equivalent) with post-trade experience in heavy fabrication, ideally in mining, construction, steel fabrication, energy or manufacturing. The leading hand brings substantial experience and a record of guiding apprentices or junior tradespeople.



Electrical Technicians hold a Certificate III in Electrotechnology (or equivalent) and an Australian electrical licence, with industrial or plant experience preferred. Trade Assistants bring experience in a workshop, manufacturing, construction or plant environment.
- Technical Skills: Diagnosing, troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance; reading drawings and schematics. Strong MIG and stick welding for the boilermaker roles (TIG an advantage); fault-finding and PLC knowledge for the electrical roles; safe use of hand and power tools for trade assistants.
- Soft Skills: Clear communication, good time management, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability and Learning: A proactive learner who embraces new technologies and looks for ways to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Licences and Certifications: White card and a full driver's licence. Forklift, EWP, working at heights and confined space tickets are an advantage and can be arranged.

- Salary from $80,000 to $115,000 plus superannuation, depending on role and experience

Additional information

- Roles involve standard Monday to Friday schedules or shift work, with occasional site attendance, weekend and on-call duties depending on the role
