Bricklayer (ANZSCO 331111)

ABM Landscaping is seeking an Experienced Brick Layer to join our busy team. We are looking for someone with leadership potential who takes pride in their work and enjoys the great outdoors.

The successful applicant for this position will require experience in the following:

- studying plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures
- erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding
- sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials and spreading layers of mortar to serve as base and binder for blocks using trowels
- laying bricks in rows, designs and shapes, and spreading mortar between joint, embedding blocks in mortar and removing excess mortar
- checking vertical and horizontal alignment, paving pattern and heights
- cutting, shaping and polishing stones and bricks using machines and hand tools, and shaping bricks to fit irregular spaces
- Repairing and maintaining bricks, cement blocks, brick paving and related structures




- Laying bricks and pavers on sand screed to form pathways, roadways and pedestrian areas.
- Prepare base and bedding courses, and lay segmental paving

Essential Criteria:
- Presents well with good communication and record keeping skills
- Attention to detail with a focus on delivering high quality projects
- Be hard working, autonomous and professional
- A construction white card and current manual drivers’ licence is required

The following would be advantageous but is not a requirement:
- MR Truck licence
- Skid Steer Operation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
