Job Description

Betterway Transport is seeking an experienced Intrastate Truck Driver to join our growing transport team. This is a full-time position based in Ipswich, Queensland. As an Intrastate Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across Queensland, maintaining our reputation for reliable and professional service delivery. This role is integral to our operations, ensuring that our clients receive their freight on time and in perfect condition.

Key responsibilities

n

Operate heavy vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies

n

Plan and execute routes to meet delivery schedules whilst optimising fuel consumption

n

Conduct pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly

n

Load, secure and unload freight in accordance with safety regulations and company standards

n

Maintain accurate logbooks, including distance travelled, fuel consumption and delivery records

n

Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse staff and dispatch teams

n

Comply with fatigue management regulations and secure work practices

n

Perform basic vehicle maintenance and cleanliness checks to keep vehicles road-worthy

What we're looking for

n

Current Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence with a clean driving record

n

Proven experience as a truck driver in the road transport industry

n

Strong knowledge of Queensland roads and familiarity with regional intrastate routes

n

Excellent time management and organisational skills to meet delivery deadlines

n





Professional communication abilities and a customer-focused approach

n

Commitment to road safety and compliance with transport regulations

n

Ability to work independently whilst being a reliable team member

n

Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role, including manual handling of freight

n

Preferably, experience with modern vehicle technology and GPS navigation systems
