About the role

As the Business Manager - Institutes, you will provide strategic leadership and expert advice across financial management, business planning, performance reporting, governance and commercial activities within Metro North Health's research and institute portfolio. Working closely with executive leaders, researchers and key stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of innovative, high-quality and financially sustainable research and healthcare initiatives. You will lead budgeting and forecasting processes, provide insightful financial and operational analysis, and develop business cases and commercial models that support informed decision-making and future growth.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Support the research and institute teams to develop and implement research programs in line with Metro North Health's strategic vision and objectives.
- Support the research and institute executives in developing and implementing annual business plans, incorporating workforce, research requirements and operating budgets.
- Lead the process of budget and forecast preparation.
- Provide monthly reporting analysis and advice on institute and cost centre performance in terms of expenditure and FTE's.




- Undertake operational performance management activities, including data analysis and investigation, the provision of regular reports and recommendations to executive and cost centre managers, by monitoring and analysing data from relevant information systems in relation to budget, financial position and forecasts, human resource and workplace health and safety indicators.
