This is a senior business-development position for an experienced transport professional with strong industry knowledge, established commercial relationships and a proven ability to win new business. The successful candidate will identify, approach and secure new clients across industries including food manufacturing and distribution, frozen and chilled products, foodservice and hospitality supply, supermarkets and retail distribution, meat, seafood and fresh produce, pharmaceutical and temperature-controlled products, third-party logistics and cold storage, and government and commercial transport tenders.

Key responsibilities

- Identify and secure profitable refrigerated and frozen-transport contracts
n
- Develop a strong pipeline of qualified business opportunities
n
- Build relationships with manufacturers, distributors, procurement teams and supply-chain decision-makers
n
- Prepare qualified proposals, presentations and tender submissions
n
- Negotiate rates and commercial terms in consultation with management
n
- Work closely with operations to ensure new contracts can be delivered safely and profitably
n
- Maintain strong relationships with newly acquired clients
n




- Monitor market opportunities, competitors and industry developments
n
- Provide regular reporting on prospects, proposals and secured revenue
n

About you

n

n
- Demonstrated business-development or senior sales experience in transport, logistics, cold chain, food distribution or 3PL
n
- A proven record of securing substantial commercial accounts
n
- Existing relationships within the food, FMCG, refrigerated-transport or supply-chain sectors
n
- A strong understanding of transport pricing, margins and operational requirements
n
- Experience preparing proposals and responding to tenders
n
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
n
- The ability to work independently and remain accountable for measurable results
n
- A strong focus on securing sustainable and profitable work
n
