Troocoo Healthcare is currently seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse for a contract opportunity within the Mental Health Acute Care Team based in Mackay.

The Opportunity As a Clinical Nurse within the Acute Care Team, you will play a key role in providing assessment, triage, crisis intervention and case management support for consumers accessing acute mental health services.
n
The Acute Care Team operates as a critical entry point into public mental health services and provides assessment, referral and support to individuals experiencing acute mental health presentations.
n
This role requires clinicians who are confident working autonomously, conducting comprehensive mental health assessments and managing complex presentations within a community-based acute care environment.

Contract Details

Position: Clinical Nurse (Grade 6)
n Service: Mental Health Acute Care Team (ACT)
n Location: Mackay
n Contract Dates: 14 September 2026 - 18 October 2026
n Hours: Maximum 80 hours per fortnight
n
Essential Experience To be considered for this opportunity, you must demonstrate:
n
n
- Mental Health Case Management experience
n
- Mental Health Triage experience
n
- Acute Mental Health or Crisis Care experience
n
- Ability to complete ECGs
n
- Experience administering Intramuscular (IM) medications
n
- Strong risk assessment and clinical decision-making skills
n
- Current AHPRA Registration
n
n
Highly Desirable Experience Experience with the following will be highly regarded:

- CIMHA
n
- ieMR
n
- Australian Mental Health Services
n
- Community Mental Health
n
- Crisis Assessment and Intervention
n
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2016
n
- Previous regional or rural mental health experience
n
