Key responsibilities
MIG welding structural steel components to a high standard
Marking out and setting out fabrications from drawings to tight tolerances
Fitting and assembling beams, columns, cleats, base plates and trusses — tacking up square and true before weld‑out
Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, weld symbols and cutting lists
Managing distortion control and weld sequencing on larger fabrications
Working independently from shop drawings with minimal supervision
Maintaining a clean, tidy and secure workshop
About you
Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalent
Ability to pass a practical weld test as part of the selection process
