Job Description

A well-equipped small animal hospital in Melbourne is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join its growing general practice team. This role would suit a confident GP vet who enjoys a varied caseload that includes surgery as well as consulting.

You'll be joining a large and supportive team of around 30 staff including veterinarians, experienced nurses and dedicated receptionists.

The practice focuses on delivering a high standard of primary care with a strong emphasis on thorough workups and excellent client service. Consultations are scheduled for 30 minutes, giving vets the time needed to properly investigate cases and build strong relationships with clients.

State-of-the-art equipment and facilities, including CT imaging, digital radiography and a well-equipped surgical suite, allow the team to perform advanced diagnostics and work up cases thoroughly in-house.

The hospital operates alongside emergency and specialist veterinary teams,



providing excellent support for complex cases and creating a collaborative clinical environment where vets can continue developing their skills.

The position is ideally full time, working four days per week plus a shared one-in-three weekend roster. However, part-time applicants working three days per week will also be considered. The hospital is open Monday to Friday 7 am - 8 pm, Saturday 9 am - 5pm, and Sunday 10 am - 5pm. Weekday shifts run from 7 am - 3 pm (surgery or consulting) and 10 am - 8 pm (consulting).
