We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented
Assistant Accountant
to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager and working alongside an experienced CFO, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities while supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a growing national business.

About the Role This is a varied, hands-on role that will see you supporting the Finance team across a range of accounting and administrative functions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing local and international Accounts Payable
Assisting with Accounts Receivable and responding to finance enquiries
Performing bank reconciliations
Assisting with month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting schedules
Assisting with fixed asset accounting and depreciation
Supporting inventory accounting and stock reconciliations
Assisting with cost and margin reporting
Working with internal teams including Sales,
Purchasing and Warehouse to ensure financial accuracy
Assisting with KPI reporting and finance administrationAss om Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and finance projects
Providing general accounting and administrative support to the Finance team
About You We're looking for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has outstanding attention to detail and is eager to continue building their accounting career.
To be successful you'll have:
A qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Business
Around 2-3 years' experience in an accounting or finance role
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Experience using ERP systems such as NetSuite will be highly regarded
Experience within wholesale, distribution or inventory-based businesses will be advantageous
