The Role

We’re looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Casual Retail Sales Assistants to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves fashion, enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment.

As part of the CHARCOAL team, you’ll play an important role in creating an elevated and welcoming experience for every customer. You’ll work alongside a supportive team to help achieve sales goals, maintain the store and represent the CHARCOAL brand.

We’re looking for someone who is energetic, approachable and confident, with a genuine interest for fashion and delivering great customer service.

Whether you have previous retail experience or are looking to build your skills in fashion retail, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience

- Create a warm, welcoming and personalised experience for every customer.
- Build genuine connections and confidently assist customers with styling and product recommendations.
- Help customers find pieces that suit their individual style and needs.
- Support the team in achieving daily and weekly sales targets.
- Encourage customer loyalty and help create memorable shopping experiences.

Sales & Product

- Develop strong knowledge of CHARCOAL products, collections and styling.
- Stay up to date with new arrivals, promotions and key product information.
- Confidently recommend products and suggest styling options.
- Work as part of the team to achieve store sales and performance goals.

Store Presentation

- Maintain a clean, organised and visually appealing store.




- Assist with visual merchandising and maintaining CHARCOAL’s brand presentation.
- Ensure stock is replenished and presented to a high standard.
- Assist with deliveries, stock processing and general store organisation.

Teamwork & Operations

- Work collaboratively with the wider store team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Follow store processes and procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing the store where required.
- Maintain a positive, supportive and energetic team environment.
- Be proactive, reliable and willing to jump in wherever needed.

What We’re Looking For

- A genuine interest in fashion and the CHARCOAL brand.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable, but not essential.
- Friendly, confident and approachable personality.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work well in a quick-paced team environment.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible with availability.
- A natural eye for styling and presentation.
- Someone who enjoys connecting with customers and creating great experiences.

- Flexible availability, including weekends and peak retail periods
- Previous retail experience preferred but not essential
- Must have full Australian working rights
