5 Rivers Bistro & Bar is looking for an experienced and reliable Chef / Cook to join our kitchen team.

We are seeking someone with strong experience across breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner service, ideally within an Australian café, restaurant or bistro environment.

The Role

You will be involved in preparing, cooking and presenting a varied modern Australian café and bistro menu, including:

- Breakfast and brunch dishes
- Modern café-style meals
- Steaks and grilled dishes
- Seafood
- Burgers and wraps
- Pasta dishes
- Chicken dishes
- Salads, sides and light meals
- Bistro-style lunch and dinner dishes
- General food preparation and kitchen duties

Pizza-making experience, including wood-fired or commercial pizza experience, would be highly regarded but is not essential.

About You

We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as a Chef or Cook
- Has experience with Australian café, restaurant or bistro-style food
- Is confident preparing breakfast and brunch dishes
- Can competently cook steaks, seafood, burgers, pasta and grilled dishes
- Has strong food preparation and plating skills
- Can maintain consistent food quality during busy service periods
- Works efficiently and calmly under pressure
- Maintains high standards of food safety, cleanliness and hygiene
- Is reliable, punctual and organised
- Can work independently and as part of a team
- Has good communication skills
- Is available for morning, afternoon and evening services as required
- Is available for weekend work where rostered

Hours & Roster The venue operates across breakfast, lunch and dinner service. The successful applicant may be rostered across a combination of morning and evening services, including split shifts where required.

All hours, breaks, overtime, penalty rates and applicable allowances will be provided in accordance with the applicable workplace laws, award and employment arrangement.

Full-time, part-time and/or casual arrangements may be considered depending on the successful applicant’s experience and availability.

Pay





Remuneration will be negotiated based on qualifications, experience and the employment arrangement and will meet or exceed all applicable minimum legal and award entitlements.

Applicable penalty rates, overtime and allowances will be paid in accordance with the relevant workplace laws and industrial instrument.

Applicants must have valid Australian work rights appropriate to the position at the time employment commences.

Australian citizens, permanent residents and eligible visa holders with appropriate work rights are welcome to apply.
