About the role The Commis Chef or Cook reports to the Head and Sous Chefs and must act in the interests of Amigos, fellow employees and customers while observing all statutory and legal requirements. The role requires assisting the Chef in Charge as directed, flexibility regarding working hours, and taking responsibility for training as a Chef.

Key responsibilities

- Ensure the smooth running of food services and assist in any food preparation section as necessary

- Fully comply with all statutory and legal requirements for fire, OH&S;, hygiene and employment policies and procedures

- Monitor the cleanliness and appearance of all kitchen areas, particularly those in public view, and keep your section clean and tidy when on duty

- Use and follow recipe cards, Mis-en-place and food stock required reporting procedures





- Accept delivery of food items and ensure correct goods inward procedures are adhered to

- Maintain stock rotation procedures and correct storage procedures at all times

- Take food item deliveries into Amigos with regard to correct temperature, weight and quality

- Wash and clean cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery when necessary and as directed by senior employees

- Assist the Head Chef in taking food stock if required

- Report any breaches of security, maintenance requirements or damaged equipment to the Head Chef or floor manager/owner
