The Marong Family Hotel is seeking a qualified Full-Time Chef to join our team.

The Marong Family Hotel is a busy, well-established pub in the Bendigo region, offering quality pub dining across our bistro and a strong takeaway trade. We use fresh, local and seasonal produce and pride ourselves on consistent, quality food. The successful applicant must be fully qualified, have a passion for food, an eye for detail and take pride in everything they do.

You should be willing to work both in a team environment and autonomously. You must be a team player who is highly professional, motivated, and brings a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a high standard and maintaining consistent quality, presentation and portion sizes
- Developing new and innovative recipes and menu items
- Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are always met
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies, including stock control and stock rotation
- Operating and monitoring ovens, grills, fryers and other commercial cooking equipment
- Collaborating with other members of the team to deliver an exceptional dining experience,



including training and providing guidance to junior kitchen staff when required

Qualifications and experience required:

- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, and Diploma of Hospitality Management or similar
- At least 1–2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role, with references
- A proven track record of success within a similar role or work environment
- Availability on nights and weekends
- The ability to work under pressure
