Founded in 1934, Browns is a family-owned jeweller renowned for exceptional natural diamonds, craftsmanship and timeless design.

As Browns continues its international expansion, we are seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer to lead the establishment, growth and long-term development of our Australian business.

This is a senior executive chance for an accomplished leader with extensive experience across luxury retail, jewellery, commercial development and organisational leadership. The CEO will provide overall strategic direction to the Australian operation while building the people, infrastructure, retail network and operational capability required for sustainable growth.

What We Want

- Minimum 10 years’ senior leadership experience, with significant exposure to the jewellery, luxury retail or closely related industry
- In-depth knowledge of the fine jewellery industry, including retail operations, merchandise development, manufacturing and the luxury client environment
- Proven experience recruiting, selecting and developing senior executives and management teams
- Experience designing and implementing executive remuneration and incentive structures
- Strong commercial property experience, including identifying new retail locations and evaluating expansion opportunities
- Demonstrated experience negotiating commercial terms with landlords, property groups and other key business partners
- Experience appointing and managing shopfitters, contractors and external suppliers for new retail developments
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience overseeing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and organisational performance
- Proven ability to develop and implement company policies, procedures and standard operating procedures
- Experience developing and executing long-term business growth and market expansion strategies
- Strong strategic understanding of merchandise development,



brand positioning and marketing
- Demonstrated experience establishing, expanding or overseeing jewellery manufacturing operations

What Success Looks Like

- Providing clear strategic direction for Browns’ Australian operations and translating the broader company vision into executable business plans
- Developing and implementing objectives, policies, strategies and programmes that support sustainable growth
- Building an experienced executive and management team, including the recruitment and appointment of key senior personnel
- Establishing appropriate organisational structures, executive incentive programmes and performance frameworks
- Identifying suitable locations for future boutiques and leading commercial negotiations with landlords
- Overseeing new boutique developments, including the appointment and management of shopfitters, contractors and key suppliers
- Directing the Australian retail expansion strategy and evaluating new market and location opportunities
- Providing strategic direction for merchandise development to ensure the product offering supports the needs of the Australian market and the Browns brand
- Guiding marketing strategy, brand development and client acquisition initiatives
- Overseeing financial performance and ensuring management accounts, budgets and forecasts are prepared accurately and within required timelines
- Monitoring organisational performance against agreed objectives and implementing corrective action where required
- Ensuring appropriate SOPs, governance structures and operating controls are documented,



implemented and maintained
- Allocating financial, human and operational resources in support of company priorities
- Ensuring the Australian business operates in accordance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements and company standards
- Developing and executing short-, medium- and long-term growth strategies for the Australian market
- Leading the establishment of a jewellery manufacturing facility in Australia, including planning, resourcing, supplier engagement and operational implementation
- Representing Browns in significant commercial negotiations and maintaining strong relationships with landlords, suppliers, professional advisers and other stakeholders
- Reporting to the Board and senior group leadership on business performance, strategy, risks, forecasts and major development initiatives
