What you'll be doing

Plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within Social Work to provide high quality, trauma informed, and evidence based therapeutic interventions to support the emotional, behavioural and relational wellbeing of children and families consistent with NSW Health, SESLHD policies, procedures and standards.
This role includes responsibilities for supervision, quality improvement initiatives, education delivery to other health care professionals and the teaching of students on clinical placement.

Selection Criteria
- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State)
Award (Bachelor of Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers with demonstrated post graduate clinical experience and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning.
- Demonstrated extensive post graduate clinical experience in providing evidence based therapeutic counselling, groupwork and case management to children and families impacted by trauma and adverse life events.
- Demonstrated experience in providing culturally safe counselling and other responses to Aboriginal families who have experienced interpersonal and intergenerational trauma.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical and cultural supervision and ability to provide high level clinical advice, education and support to others in providing service excellence.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
- Current drivers licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
