Financial Accountant - 2-3 month contract

An opportunity has become available for an experienced Financial Accountant to join an established organisation and provide additional support to the finance team during a busy reporting period.

n

Working closely with the Finance Manager and broader finance team, you will play an important role in ensuring month-end reporting and financial year-end preparation are completed accurately and within required deadlines.

n

This is a hands-on position ideally suited to an Accountant with strong financial accounting fundamentals who can quickly get across the numbers and contribute from day one.

Hands-On Financial Accounting Role

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- Assist with the preparation and completion of month-end accounts
n
- Prepare journals, accruals and prepayments
n
- Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations
n
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports
n
- Investigate and explain account and reporting variances
n
- Assist with financial year-end preparation
n




- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for external audit
n
- Assist with fixed assets and depreciation
n
- Complete bank and general ledger reconciliations
n
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities as required
n
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of general ledger accounts
n
- Assist with statutory reporting and compliance requirements
n
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors
n
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting
n
- Provide general accounting support to the finance team as required
n

About You

n

You will be an experienced Financial Accountant who is comfortable working in a busy environment and managing competing deadlines.

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- Strong month-end accounting experience
n
- Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations, journals and financial reports
n
- Exposure to financial year-end and external audit preparation
n
- Strong Excel skills
n
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
n
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
n
- Solid organisational and time-management skills
n
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative finance team
n

n

CA, CPA or ACCA qualification, or progress towards qualification, would be highly regarded.

n
