Job Description

The Functions Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations of Mandoon Estate events and leading the service team, including event set-up, management, and pack-down. Following handover from the Events Sales Team, the Function Manager becomes the primary venue contact on the event day and works closely with them to ensure successful delivery of their event. The role is responsible for turning what has been sold and contracted into a detailed and executable event. This includes managing both wedding and corporate client requirements, suppliers, timings, venue setup, venue pack down and internal communication. This role is responsible for leading the operational team and running the event on the day.

Key responsibilities

n

Managing of functions staff during all stages of events, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard

n

Managing the function team with day-to-day operations of Mandoon Estate functions and events including event set-up, management, and pack-down

n

Completion of department stock takes and stock compliance, including the correct transferring of stock items subject to function or event location, and supervising the correct recording of stock usage

n

Ensuring compliance with relevant Occupational Health and Safety procedures, including HACCP

n

Adherence to department budgets, including but not limited to staff wage costs

n

Professional management of Wedding ceremony and receptions

n

Assisting the Wedding Coordinator with site visits, ceremonies and client meetings when required

n

Participating in the recruitment and training of function staff to ensure tasks,



and service standards are learned and completed to a high standard

n

Supervision of contract staff, ensuring correct venue specific expectations and procedures are communicated

n

Liaising with other departments, including kitchen, to ensure the smooth operation of functions and special events

n

Exceptional organisation and attention to detail

Strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills

n

Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously

n

Solid administration and event documentation skills

n

Ability to manage expectations professionally

n

Calm and solutions-focused approach to problems and last-minute changes

n

Strong understanding and experience of hospitality and event operations

n

Ability to work collaboratively with operational teams

n

Current RSA, Approved Managers and driving license are essential
