Job Title : Hostel Manager About the Client : City Groves is a boutique; upmarket student accommodation complex designed as a village style community. The property caters to middle and upper tier student and young professional residents seeking a safe, secure and luxurious living environment near QUT, RBWH and UQ Herston.

City Groves requires a Hostel Manager to oversee the full operational, administrative and facilities management functions of the accommodation complex. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards expected of a premium student living workplace and requires strong capability in cleaning operations, maintenance coordination and facility compliance, in addition to leadership and guest service responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities will include:

- Plans, directs and coordinates the organisation, administration and daily operations of the accommodation complex
n
- Maintains hygiene, safety, cleaning and maintenance standards, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
n
- Oversees cleaning and maintenance schedules, including rooms, common areas, grounds, and building facilities
n
- Supervises, trains and manages staff, ensuring high performance and consistent service delivery
n
- Plans budgets and authorises expenditure, ensuring efficient and cost effective operations
n
- Keeps accurate administrative records, including occupancy, maintenance logs,



compliance documentation and financial records
n
- Exercises public relations and marketing responsibilities, promoting the accommodation and maintaining stakeholder relationships
n
- Handles guest enquiries and complaints, ensuring professional resolution and high service standards
n
- Coordinates contractors and trades for repairs, maintenance, safety checks and facility upgrades
n
- Ensures the property remains clean, well maintained and guest ready at all times
n
- Implements operational policies and procedures, including emergency response, WHS compliance and facility management protocols
n

Skills and Experience: Diploma of Leadership and Management or equivalent industry experience

n

n
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in a management or leadership role within accommodation, hospitality or facilities based environments
n
- Strong knowledge of cleaning operations, maintenance coordination, WHS compliance and facility standards
n
- Strong leadership, organisational and staff management capability
n
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
n
- Ability to manage guest enquiries and complaints professionally
n
- Strong administrative, record keeping and compliance skills
n
- Effective problem solving and decision making ability
n
- Self motivated, able to work independently and take initiative
n
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet operational requirements
n

Salary : $78,000-$85,000 / year +superannuation
