We’re looking for experienced support workers - not just someone to fill a shift.

Spirit Care is looking for an

experienced Female Disability Support Worker

to join our growing team across South-West Sydney.

We support participants with a diverse range of needs across community access, in-home support, day programs and higher-support environments. We are looking for someone who is confident, reliable and genuinely knows how to

engage with participants, take initiative and deliver high-quality person-centred support .

This role would suit an experienced Disability Support Worker who can walk into a shift, understand the participant's needs and support plan, build rapport and actively contribute to a meaningful day — without needing to be constantly directed.

Due to the personal care requirements, privacy, dignity and expressed preferences of the female participants supported in this role,

being female is considered an inherent requirement of the position.

What you'll be doing You will provide direct support to female NDIS participants and may work across our day program, community and in-home services.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing active, person-centred disability support

Building genuine rapport and maintaining professional boundaries

Supporting participants with community access and social participation

Encouraging independence, choice and achievement of NDIS goals

Planning and facilitating meaningful activities rather than providing passive supervision

Supporting personal care,



hygiene and daily living activities where required

Confidently supporting participants with behaviours of concern

Following Behaviour Support Plans, risk assessments and participant support plans

Recognising changes in behaviour, presentation, health or wellbeing and escalating concerns appropriately

Responding calmly and professionally to incidents and challenging situations

Completing clear, accurate and meaningful shift notes

Completing incident reports promptly when required

Communicating effectively with Team Leaders and management

Maintaining participant dignity, privacy, safety and choice at all times

The person we're looking for Previous disability support experience is essential.

We're particularly interested in applicants who have experience with

complex needs, behaviours of concern, autism, psychosocial disability, intellectual disability, personal care or high-support participants.

You should be someone who:

Is confident and experienced in disability support

Is warm and engaging while maintaining professional boundaries

Takes initiative and doesn't wait to be told what to do throughout a shift

Can keep participants meaningfully engaged

Remains calm during challenging behaviours or unexpected situations

Understands qualified boundaries and appropriate escalation

Is reliable and takes punctuality seriously

Communicates well with participants, families and colleagues





Can follow support plans and risk-management strategies

Understands the importance of accurate NDIS documentation

Is comfortable receiving feedback and working within an accountable team environment

Essential requirements Applicants must have, or be willing and eligible to obtain where applicable:

Relevant experience working within disability support

NDIS Worker Screening Check

Working With Children Check

First Aid and CPR

NDIS Worker Orientation Module

Current Australian driver's licence

Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle

Full Australian working rights

Ability to undertake personal care duties

Availability for a mixture of weekday and/or weekend shifts

A

Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or similar qualification

will be highly regarded.
