Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to support our Federal Government client within a complex ICT and business transformation setting.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised qualified with experience across business management, project coordination, financial management, procurement, governance and administration.
n
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, delivery teams, finance representatives, vendors and senior stakeholders to support effective business operations and the successful delivery of strategic outcomes.

The Opportunity
n
n
- Position: Project Officer
n
- Hours: Part-time – 20 hours per week
n
- Contract: Initial 7-month engagement
n
- Extension: Option for a further 12 months
n
- Working Arrangement: Hybrid
n
- Security Clearance: NV1 required or ability and willingness to obtain an NV1 clearance
n
n
Key Responsibilities
n
As the Project Officer, you will provide business management, governance and administrative support across a complex ICT and transformation environment.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Providing business management, governance and project coordination support.
n
- Coordinating financial, workforce, risk, performance and project reporting.
n
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial monitoring and reconciliation activities.
n
- Assisting with procurement, contract administration and vendor engagement in accordance with Commonwealth Government policies and procedures.
n
- Maintaining project artefacts, registers and documentation in accordance with governance frameworks.
n
- Supporting workforce planning, onboarding,
offboarding and administrative processes.
n
- Preparing high-quality briefing materials, reports, presentations and correspondence for senior executives and governance forums.
n
- Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with stakeholders across multiple organisational levels and business areas.
n
- Supporting audit, assurance and compliance activities through accurate record keeping and provision of supporting evidence.
n
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to improve business processes, governance and delivery effectiveness.
n
- Providing strategic and operational support to project leadership as required.
n
n
About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- Demonstrated experience providing business management, governance and administrative support within a complex ICT, program or project delivery environment.
n
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial monitoring, procurement coordination, contract administration and financial reporting.
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work effectively across different levels and business areas.
n
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.
n
- The ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced and complex environment.
n
- Strong written communication skills, with experience preparing executive briefs, reports, presentations and correspondence.
n
n
Desirable
n
The following experience or qualifications will be highly regarded:
n
n
- Experience supporting Australian Government ICT, digital transformation, intelligence or law enforcement programs/projects.
n
- Qualifications or certifications in business management, finance, procurement, project management or a related discipline.
n
n
Security Requirements
n
Due to the nature of the environment, the successful candidate must:
n
n
- Hold an existing NV1 security clearance, or have the ability and willingness to obtain an NV1 clearance.
n
- Successfully complete the relevant organisational suitability and security requirements prior to commencement.
n
- Comply with applicable confidentiality, security and engagement requirements.
n
n
