About the role

Wyvern Health Ltd is seeking a talented Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join our team on a full-time basis. This role will see you working in the Education team and within the greater hospital multidisciplinary healthcare team to support the education needs of clinical nursing staff in the surgical wards. Based in Terrey Hills, NSW, this role is essential to ensuring that nursing staff maintain current knowledge and competencies in line with best practice standards and regulatory requirements.

Imperative to your success in this role will be delivering exceptional education outcomes. We are looking to offer a full-time contract to the right candidate. As a CNE, you will be instrumental in supporting education requirements and enhancing the quality of patient care throughout Wyvern Health Ltd.

Key responsibilities

- Design, develop and deliver comprehensive nursing education support tailored to the needs of clinical staff at all levels
- Assess learning needs across nursing teams and identify gaps in knowledge and competency
- Create and maintain educational resources, including training materials, e-learning modules and practical demonstrations
- Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions using various educational methods and delivery formats
- Evaluate the effectiveness of education programmes through assessments, feedback and audit mechanisms
- Support the orientation and induction of new nursing staff to ensure competency and confidence
- Provide mentorship and coaching to nursing staff to foster professional growth and development
- Stay current with evidence-based practice, clinical guidelines and regulatory standards, incorporating these into educational delivery
- Collaborate with Nursing Unit managers and clinical teams to identify emerging training needs and address performance gaps




- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and best practice standards
- Maintain accurate records of education delivery, attendance and competency assessments

What we're looking for

- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in clinical nursing practice in an acute or healthcare setting
- Formal qualification in nursing education or training delivery (e.g. Graduate Certificate in Education, Teaching and Learning, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering education programmes to healthcare professionals
- Ability to deliver clinical support in Surgical nursing, nursing education programs and training and assessment to clinical nurses.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training methodologies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems
- Knowledge of current clinical guidelines, standards and regulatory requirements relevant to nursing practice
- Ability to assess competency and provide constructive feedback to learners
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- Sound clinical decision making, problem solving, organisational, time management, communication, computer and software program skills




- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives or audit processes is desirable
- Neurosurgery and orthopaedic clinical experience are desirable
