We are recruiting a permanent full-time Commercial Manager-Asia to join our friendly and driven Sales team based at our APAC Brisbane Head Office in Northgate, or Melbourne.
Reporting to the Head of Retail- APAC (excl China & Japan), this key role for our business success will be responsible for managing the day-to-day and long-term relationships with major international distributor partners and will be responsible for achieving our sales targets throughout Asia, excluding China and Japan. This critical role for our strategic growth in the region will lead relationship with our customers, driving an intimate understanding of our customer’s goals and key initiatives to drive our profitable growth and business expansion opportunities. Additionally, our Commercial Manager will be responsible for developing joint business plans and executing our aligned sales and marketing initiatives.
This role will build and maintain key relationships through effective communication, education, and support of distributors in their territory, as well as work cross functionally with other departments to ensure exceptional distributor care.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Execution
- Develop joint business plans in collaboration with distributors to identify key initiatives and KPIs to
- achieve sales and profitability targets in line with approved commercial strategies
- Facilitate implementation of agreed plans through frequent communication, weekly check ins, and monthly business reviews to track progress towards sales targets in line with established joint business plans
- Develop a process to systematically collect market and competitive trends, and develop recommendations based on competitor activities
- Generate sales reporting, develop marketing plans and promotions in collaboration with each distributor and or customer
- Present internal monthly business review to key stakeholders to monitor distributor & customer progress, KPIs and key initiatives
- Identify growth and build opportunities with existing and high potential new customer
- Be a trusted partner uncovering expansion opportunities across markets and support the resources necessary to deliver measurable customer value
Distributor Management
- Facilitate day-to-day support of distributors including orders, shipments, payments, quality claims
- Work with distributor to provide forecast and inventory reports to optimize demand forecasting and ensure supply
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders such as Product Development and Supply Chain to meet market demand
- Recommend products and services suitable to different partners, communicate about new products and keep accurate records for reporting and feedback
- As a member of the Asia team, take an active role in developing the Asian markets outside of Japan and China and contribute to the execution of business plans as assigned
Skills and experience:
- A demonstrated tenure of first-rate distributor management experience within the Asian Region, preferably involving health care products
- Strong network with industry partners and key distributors in various countries, with ideally exposure to emerging/online channels
- Written and verbal Mandarin Chinese skills- highly regarded
- An authentic relationship builder with innate negotiation skills
- A foundation understanding of the product development process ideally in the nutritional medicine
- Demonstrated understanding of positioning and pricing
- An effective/dynamic presenter able to fluidly work with diverse groups
- As the role is for the Asia regional business, international travel is required alongside working flexibly across different time zones.
