Communications and Events Program Manager
We're seeking an experienced Communications and Events Program Manager to join a leading Perth-based resources organisation on a fixed-term contract through to April 2027. You'll support the planning, delivery and communications for a major annual program and flagship gala event.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced communications or events professional with strong stakeholder engagement skills to take ownership of a high-profile program within a large, fast-paced organisation.

THE ROLE
Working closely with communications, procurement, category management and senior leaders, you'll manage a high volume of concurrent workstreams across an eight-month program cycle. You'll deliver a successful gala evening and the communications program around it.
Key responsibilities include
- Lead the evaluation and setup of a digital nominations platform, working with IT and internal stakeholders to assess feasibility, secure approvals and complete testing ahead of launch.
- Lead the redesign of the program framework, including categories, eligibility, approval layers and governance, in collaboration with senior procurement stakeholders.
- Develop and document user guidance for nominators and program administrators.
- Prepare and distribute communications materials, including printed collateral, QR-coded items and site digital screen content.
- Plan and deliver information sessions across multiple sites and business units, both in person and virtual.
- Draft and publish content across internal social platforms, intranet channels, newsletters and leadership communications packs.
- Coordinate the shortlisting and finalist process,
including review packs, executive sign-off and third-party due diligence.
- Manage finalist notifications, communications toolkits and supplier filming logistics.
- Support event delivery, including guest lists, seating, run sheets, speaking notes and on-the-night coordination with the event management agency.
- Coordinate post-event content, reporting and a debrief to inform future program planning.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience in corporate communications, events or stakeholder engagement, ideally within a large resources or infrastructure organisation.
- Robust project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams against tight deadlines.
- Excellent written communication skills across a range of formats, including internal articles, executive communications and social media.
- Experience coordinating across senior stakeholders and executive approval processes.
- Demonstrated ability to design or redesign program frameworks and governance processes.
- Experience evaluating and implementing digital tools or platforms, with the ability to liaise effectively with IT teams.
- Ability to manage external supplier and vendor relationships professionally.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint. Familiarity with internal communications platforms such as Viva Engage is advantageous.
