Position: Computer Network and Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join our IT team and support the design, implementation, administration and maintenance of the organisation's network and systems infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

- Design, configure, maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS and DHCP.
- Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Monitor network and systems performance and investigate infrastructure incidents.
- Configure and maintain Microsoft 365 and Microsoft cloud services.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, security controls, and access policies.
- Support virtualisation environments including VMware and/or Hyper-V.
- Implement and maintain network security, backup, and disaster-recovery processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and systems issues.
- Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and configuration records.
- Liaise with vendors and service providers regarding infrastructure and technical issues.
- Participate in infrastructure projects,



upgrades, and technology improvements.

Skills and experience

- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
- Relevant qualified experience in network and systems engineering.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and network troubleshooting.
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and cloud-based technologies.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an IT team.
