Frontier Fire Design is launching a structured Designer Development Program for people interested in building a long-term career in the fire protection industry. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone with strong technical aptitude, attention to detail and a genuine willingness to learn. Previous fire protection experience is not required. All design training is delivered in-house by experienced Frontier Fire Design professionals, combining structured learning with supervised experience on real projects. You will receive practical training in the design and documentation of wet fire protection systems, including fire sprinklers, fire hydrants and fire hose reels.

Key responsibilities

- Reading architectural, structural and building-services drawings
- Preparing fire sprinkler, hydrant and hose reel layouts
- Using AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam
- Understanding Australian Standards and project requirements
- Coordinating fire services with other building services
- Preparing drawing mark-ups, revisions and project documentation
- Identifying design issues and preparing technical queries
- Understanding hydraulic calculations and system requirements
- Following quality-assurance and document-control procedures
