26 North is a locally based construction and maintenance company operating in Karratha and across the Pilbara. We deliver multidisciplinary construction, maintenance and project works within oil & gas and chemical production facilities. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our Karratha-based team.

About the role

This is a hands-on project management position with regular site exposure. The role is split between our Karratha office and client facilities and is not a purely office-based project management role.

The Construction Project

Manager will assist with the planning, organisation, coordination and control of construction projects from mobilisation through execution, completion and handover. You will work closely with the Managing Director, supervisors, trades, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, with regular involvement in the day-to-day execution of works on site. The successful candidate will be expected to attend site regularly to understand project conditions, coordinate construction activities, monitor progress, resolve issues and maintain communication between site personnel, clients and the project team. This role requires a minimum of 1 year relevant project management or construction coordination experience, with previous experience working within oil & gas and/or chemical production facilities essential.

Key responsibilities

- Plan, organise and coordinate construction activities across project works
- Maintain a regular presence on client and project sites throughout project delivery
- Coordinate with supervisors, trades, subcontractors and client representatives on site
- Monitor site progress, productivity, constraints and upcoming works
- Develop and maintain project schedules, short-term plans and work programs
- Coordinate labour requirements, subcontractors, materials, plant and equipment
- Review scopes of work, drawings, specifications and construction documentation




- Assist with construction methodology, sequencing and execution planning
- Monitor project progress, man-hours, costs, quality and schedule performance
- Participate in site meetings, project walk-downs, pre-starts and coordination meetings as required
- Coordinate procurement and mobilisation of materials, equipment and specialist subcontractors
- Liaise with clients, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders
- Contribute to estimates, tenders, contract bids and project planning
- Identify and assist with the management of variations, scope changes, delays and commercial impacts
- Coordinate project documentation, reporting and progress records
- Ensure construction activities comply with HSE, quality and client requirements
- Coordinate QA/QC documentation, inspection and testing records and MDR requirements
- Support project completion, close-out, handover and demobilisation

Essential requirements To be considered for this position, you will have:

- Minimum 1 year experience as a Construction Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Construction Coordinator or in a comparable construction/project role
- Previous project experience within oil & gas and/or chemical production facilities
- Demonstrated site exposure within operating industrial facilities
- Comfortable working both in the office and on active project sites
- Experience coordinating supervisors, trades, subcontractors and other project resources
- Experience with project planning, scheduling, progress tracking and reporting




- Ability to interpret scopes of work, construction drawings, specifications and project documentation
- Understanding of HSE, permit, quality and construction requirements within operating facilities
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software
- Current Australian C Class Driver's Licence
- Construction White Card
- Currently residing in Karratha

Desirable

- Qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related discipline
- Experience with brownfield projects, turnarounds and capital projects
- Exposure to tendering, contract administration, progress claims and variations
- QA/QC and MDR experience
- Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry
- Relevant client/site inductions and competencies

Location & site requirements

This is a Karratha residential position and is not a FIFO role. Applicants must currently reside in Karratha. The position is partially site-based, with regular attendance at oil & gas and/or chemical production facilities forming an essential part of the role.

The balance of the position will be undertaken from our Karratha office. Applicants must be comfortable working within active operating facilities and travelling locally between the office and client sites as operational requirements dictate.
