Construction Supervisor – Civil Construction

Talent Advisory is excited to be supporting our long term business partner, DCS Civil Tas, in the recruitment of an experienced Construction Supervisor to join their Hobart based operations.

Having worked alongside DCS Civil for a number of years, we know this is a genuine chance to join an established Tasmanian civil contractor delivering a diverse range of projects, including niche and specialised civil works.

The Role

This is a hands on leadership role responsible for the day to day supervision and delivery of civil construction works.

Working closely with the Directors, Project Managers and Project Engineers, you will coordinate people, plant, subcontractors and site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Responsibilities will include:

- Day to day supervision of civil construction sites
- Coordinating employees, subcontractors, plant and materials
- Managing daily works and keeping projects on schedule
- Providing clear direction and leadership to site crews
- Working closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers
- Monitoring quality of works and ensuring specifications are met
- Maintaining strong safety standards and site compliance
- Coordinating site activities and resolving practical issues as they arise
- Communicating with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders
- Using company software and digital systems for site reporting, documentation, timesheets, records and project information
- Ensuring site documentation and project records are accurate and completed on time
- Supporting the successful delivery of projects from commencement through to completion

About You

We are looking for an experienced civil Construction Supervisor who understands what it takes to run a productive, safe and well organised site.

You will be confident leading people,



coordinating multiple activities and making practical decisions on the ground. You will also need to be comfortable using technology and software as part of your day to day role, with DCS Civil continuing to use digital systems across its project and site operations.

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous supervisory experience within civil construction
- Strong practical knowledge of civil works and site operations
- Experience leading and coordinating site crews
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Ability to read and work from plans, specifications and project requirements
- Confidence using computers, tablets, software and digital reporting systems
- Robust organisational and time management skills
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- A practical approach to problem solving
- Current driver's licence and relevant construction industry licences and tickets
